| Timón project, Chile |
|
Timón is a copper, silver and gold exploration project covering six blocks of mineral exploration claims over a total area of 27km2. The claims are located in Sierra El Timón, in the south end of Domeyko Range, to the south-east of Copiapó.
The geology of the porphyry shows the relationship of the alteration system and the intrusives with strong leaching apparent throughout the prospect. In the quartz-sericitic zone relict sulphides were detected, particularly chalcopyrite with traces of chalcocite, suggesting the sulphide lixiviation and the possibility of a secondary chalcocite blanket preserved below the surface. A detailed understanding of the phases, temperatures and stages of alteration is required before drilling and possible development are undertaken. Rey intends to carry out an exploration program consisting of geophysics, mapping, and sampling to identify drill targets. |

A hydrothermal zone has been identified, associated with an early tertiary intrusive belt. Rey plans to commence exploration for porphyry style copper-gold deposits.
