Wal Muir has a B.Sc. (Hons) degree from the University of New South Wales (1978) with a double major in Geology, a major in Pure Mathematics and Honours in Geophysics. He has a Master of Business Administration (1989) from the University of Queensland. Mr Muir has 25 years of experience in the petroleum exploration and production industry, both within Australia and overseas. His principal expertise is in geophysical interpretation, prospect and permit evaluation, reserves assessment and economic evaluations. He has worked for seven companies during his career, rising to Exploration Manager.
Since setting up MBA Petroleum Consultants in 2001 he has undertaken projects for eighteen clients in Australia and overseas. Wal is a member of the Australian Society of Exploration Geophysicists, Queensland Petroleum Exploration and is a Distinguished Member of the Petroleum Exploration Society of Australia (PESA). He has filled all the executive positions at PESA Queensland, and was Federal President of PESA from 1997 until 1999. |

Grant Quinn has a B.Sc. degree (geology) from the University of Queensland with over 30 years experience in all aspects of coal exploration. Grant served as BHP Billiton’s coal exploration manager for Australia and worldwide during an 18-year career with the company and has managed exploration programs and due diligence studies both in Australia and overseas.
Grant established International Coal Consulting (ICC) Pty Ltd in 2000, which is a successful coal consultancy business. He is a member of the Geological Society of Australia and is a Fellow of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and the Australian Institute of Energy. |

Juan Carlos Marco Hope B.Sc (Geology) University of Chile, Chilean Geologist, Age 54 Juan has 30 years of exploration experience in Chile, working and consulting to companies such as BHP Billiton, RTZ, Noranda, Placer Dome. He also lectures at the Copiapó School of Mines and is part owner of the “Galleguillos” gold-copper mine operating in the Copiapó area. |
